Yannis (also written as Giannis) Aggelakas is a Greek artist [Vocals, Guitar, Music, Writer/Poet, Actor, Radio Producer, Sketcher] born on Oct 30th, 1959 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He is considered as one of the most influential artists of Greece, especially in Rock music. Going through the years and being multi-dimensional, he formed many bands covering different styles of music.
In 1983 he co-founded Τρύπες along with Γιώργος Καρράς and released 7 albums: 1985 81649, 1987 81650, 1990 697843, 1993 81651, 1994 81652, 1996 184783, 1999 Μέσα στη νύχτα των άλλων. The band had a huge influence on the local Rock scene. Trypes disbanded in 2001.
During the recording of the soundtrack Ο Χαμένος Τα Παίρνει Όλα, he met Νίκος Βελιώτης, which would be one of his closest collaborators in the next years. During 2004-06, he formed Alzheimer Beat along with Στέφανος Λαζαρινός [Saxophone], Φώτης Σιώτας [Violin], Βασίλης Μπαχαρίδης [Percussion] and Τίτος Καργιωτάκης [Remix, Effects]. The band made some live appearances, but never recorded an album. They would later change name to Επισκέπτες, along with other musicians.
In 2004, and after operating the label ΧΑ!!!, he founded the label (and record shop) Alltogethernow with friends Γιώργος Ξυλούρης, Ψαραντώνης, Επισκέπτες and Nikos Veliotis. In 2009 he formed Γιάννης Αγγελάκας 3 with Ντίνος Σαδίκης (baglama) and Στάθης Αραμπατζής (guitar). They made live appearances, but also never recorded an album. Also he produced a weekly radio broadcast along with Ντίνος Σαδίκης for the radio station 105.5 FM.
In 2016 he formed the band 100°C, with whom he is currently giving live performances in Greece and abroad.
