Diafana Krina (translates to "Transparent Lilies") is an Alternative Rock band formed in Peristeri, Athens, Greece, in 1991. Their most known lineup consisted of: Thanos Anestopoulos (vocals), Pantelis Rodostoglou (bass, lyrics), Nikos Bardis (guitar, trumpet), Kyriakos Tsoukalas (guitar), Tasos Machas (drums) and Panagiotis Berlis (Keyboards). Their first live appearance was in summer 1991 at Korydallos square (Athens), along with Ωχρά Σπειροχαίτη.
They released their first single, "Lionontas Monos", in 1994. They quickly gained a cult following, which soon turned into mainstream success through their landmark album "Egine i apoleia synitheia mas" (1996). On 10/7/1997, they performed at "Rockwave Festival" in Rizoupoli (Athens), along with 'Love In Sadness', 'Flowers Of Romance', 'New Model Army' & 'Sisters Of Mercy'.
They released five more records and played a lot of concerts. On 28/12/1999 they performed live at Club Ελλώπια (Λευκωσία, Cyprus). On 10/12/2000 they performed live at 'Διεθνής Αμνηστία' festival (Υδρόγειος, Thessaloniki) along with 'Γκούλαγκ', 'Ντίνος Σαδίκης', 'Νάνοι', 'DJ Sparky T & Kid Stretch'. 'FF.C' & 'Razastarr'.
The group disbanded in June 2009, with members pursuing solo projects. In 2015, Thanos Anestopoulos, publicly announced that he was battling metastatic cancer. The news prompted the original members to reunite for two historic concerts in September 2015 at the Technopolis theater in Athens to support him. Anestopoulos passed away on September 3, 2016, at the age of 49, but the band continued to perform live on-and-off.
