The Blackfoot (sometimes styled Black Foot) was a Zambian garage rock and Kalindula band formed in Kitwe in 1972. Their first album, Youth Power, was released by the short lived Goodson Records (2) in 1975. After the album rights were purchased by Zambia Music Parlour (ZMP), their album was rereleased as the better known Millie. Blackfoot released a second rock album, The Foot Steps, in 1978 before switching entirely to Kalindula music. Blackfoot played under the ZMP label well into the 1980's, releasing numerous singles until their demise. They had a short lived revival in the late 1980's as the New Blackfoot Band.
Original members included Alfred Yabe on rhythm guitar, Garry Musopa on bass guitar, Ottiman Mpondzi on lead guitar and George Kabale on drums. Later members included Fortune Makenike on drums, Crispin Malunga on keyboard and former WITCH band member John Muma on guitar.
