Nam June Paik

Korean-born American artist, born in Seoul, June 20th, 1932, died in Miami, January 29, 2006. Studied Art & Music at University of Tokyo and later Munich. Meets and works with Karlheinz Stockhausen, Joseph Beuys & John Cage, among many others. Participates in Fluxus events, marries Shigeko Kubota. Renowned as one of the pioneers of Video Art and the father of Installation Art. In 2000 he received the National Arts Club Award & the retrospective "The Worlds of Nam June Paik" opens at the Guggenheim Museum, New York.
