Notes

On “Peggy’s Blue Skylight,” the tenor sax solo after the ensemble and before the piano solo is by Booker Ervin. Tracks A1 and B2 recorded in 1957; tracks A2–B1 recorded in 1961. This pressing uses the green/blue Atlantic stereo label featuring the early unboxed fan logo design: the fan symbol appears within its own small graphic frame, but the “A,” “ATLANTIC,” and fan logo are not enclosed together inside the large, thick rectangular box that characterizes the later 1966–68 “boxed logo” variation. This layout is specific to Atlantic stereo pressings from 1964–65 and predates the boxed-logo redesign. The included Atlantic catalog insert lists titles consistent with the 1964–65 catalog, with no 1966+ listings, supporting the dating. Pressed using the original 1964 Atlantic lacquers (AT) and plated by LongWear (LW), identifiable by both the LW initials and the LongWear “S” stamper logo. Jacket carries the 1841 Broadway address appropriate for this period.
