Metronome Records AB was registered as a subsidiary of the publishing company Burmans Förlag AB, famous for printing pornmagazines such as "Top Hat", by Lars Burman, his younger brother Anders Burman and their friend Börje Ekberg. Tore and Mats Bjerke, owners of Como M&T Bjerke AB joined in as partners and the company move from Burman brothers' parental home to Bjerke's property at Grevgatan 49 in Stockholm together with artists and friends Owe Thörnqvist and Siw Malmkvist.
Metronome Records' recordings were initially made at Nalen, later at Karlavägen 67, by sound engineer Gösta Wiholm and finally back in 1959 at Metronome Studio, Stockholm, a former neighborhood cinema. On dec. 12, 1957 the publishing company name was changed to Multitone AB, although the labelname was and will always be Metronome.
