Arthur Tracy

American vocalist and actor. Born June 25, 1899 in Kamenetz-Podolsk, Moldavia, former Russian Empire (now Ukraine). Died October 5, 1997 in New York City, New York, U.S.A. He was one of the most famous of all recording stars of the 1930s & '40s, his suave style and sentimental ballads capturing the hearts of housewives in both America and Great Britain. His voice was both a baritone and a tenor, which he described as "bari-tenor". Popular radio performer, had own program 'The Street Singer' (1931).
