British rock and blues vocalist (born on 11 July 1946 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England; died on 29 June 2021).
Lawton had a tour with his former band Stonewall, which led him from UK to Hamburg, Germany. He stayed in Hamburg and soon he became singer of the early Krautrock band Asterix and its successor Lucifer’s Friend. Due to financial reasons, Layton was also active for Les Humphries Singers in the early 1970's. In 1976, Lawton left Lucifer's Friend and became singer for Uriah Heep. He returned in 1981 and was also involved in the band's later incarnations.
