The Green River Jass Band

The Green River Jass Band (GRJB) is a Dutch traditional jazz septet, formed in September 1963. It's one of the oldest continuously operating "classic jazz" ensembles in the country. After the "core" seven-piece lineup was solidified circa 1967, the GRJB began regularly performing across the Netherlands and neighboring European countries. The group released two albums in 1969 and 1971, followed by extensive touring, winning several international jazz contests, and regularly participating in radio/TV broadcasts. After slight personnel changes in the early 1980s, the GRJB septet released their third album, Harbour Jazzclub 'Live' LP in 1985. Two years later, the tuba was replaced by the contrabass.
