Brother of Chuck Cabot (aka Carlos Guillermo Cascales) and Jack Cascales (aka Juan Adolfo Cascales). Richards married singer Pat Kaye in the early 1940's.
As a songwriter, Richards is best known for writing the music for the song "Young at Heart" by Frank Sinatra (lyrics by Carolyn Leigh).
