Kenneth Kendall

British broadcaster, born August 7, 1924 in South India, died December 14, 2012 in Cowes, Isle of Wight. In 1955 he became the first person to appear on British television reading the news. Before that only the newsreader's voice was heard. He was hired by Stanley Kubrick for his movie '2001: A Space Odyssey' (1968) where he also played a newsreader for the BBC-12 Channel.
