(11 November 1943 - 18 May, 2021) Japanese sound installation artist and musician. He was born in Kyoto, Japan and studied sculpture at Kyoto City University of Fine Arts. In 1967 he moved to New York City, joining the Fluxus group in 1968. He has studied music with La Monte Young, Pandit Pran Nath, James McIntosh and others. His performances centered around a Scottish highland bagpipe and his voice.
