Swedish bassist in the jazz / fusion genre residing in Hässleholm, born on June 7, 1958, in Gustavi, Göteborg, Västergötland. Jonas Hellborg has, among others, played with John McLaughlin, Bill Laswell, Shawn Lane, Buckethead, Jens Johansson and Anders Johansson. He debuted internationally with a solo bass performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1981, where he introduced his groundbreaking slapping technique.
