Ozeias de Paula is a Brazilian gospel singer and songwriter, born on April 23, 1951, in the city of Muriaé, Minas Gerais - Brazil. He is the son of the pastor of the Assembleia de Deus Evangelical Church, Antônio de Paula, and the younger brother of the well-known and beloved duo Otoniel e Oziel. His professional career began in 1969 when Otoniel e Oziel he was invited to participate in one of their albums, Oásis Do Amor. After that, Ozeias began singing in churches, congresses, and other evangelical events, until in 1971 he recorded his solo LP, entitled Gozo da Salvação (Joy of Salvation). Shortly after recording this LP, Ozeias was invited by Matheus Iensen, owner of Gravadora Evangélica Estrela Da Manhã, to record with him. The result was his most acclaimed album, Cem Ovelhas, recorded in Curitiba. But before the album's release, on June 4, 1973, Ozeias suffered a serious car accident on a trip from Curitiba to Rio de Janeiro. The singer suffered broken legs, a fractured skull, and other injuries. Ozeias spent about nine months recovering, in the hospital and at home. After that, the album Cem Ovelhas was released and achieved high sales figures.
