Notas

This CD was available only from Scat directly with the purchase of the 3LP Bee Thousand reissue. From Scat Records: The "add-on cd": for an additional $5, a simple cd version of this release is available with purchase of the vinyl. It contains all the songs from sides 1-4 and the 5 unreleased tracks on sides 5/6. The packaging is minimal - plastic sleeve with a title card. This is intended as a convenience for those on the go or who are turntable-less. It is not available in stores or anywhere else on the 'net. Sides 1-4 are an early Bee Thousand sequence, at the time titled "Instructions to the Rusty Time Machine". The following tracks are previously unreleased: It's Like Soul Man [4 Track Version] Crayola Twig Way To A Man's Heart Break Even [Early Version] Shocker In Gloomtown [Early Version] My Valuable Hunting Knife [Andy Shernoff Version] For historical purposes, here's a list of other songs that were included in some version or other of Bee Thousand before the final sequence was decided upon. Most of the songs in the list are actually rather older recordings and are really outtakes from earlier LPs. Some of these songs turned up in the Suitcase boxed set (SC) or the Fast Japanese Spin Cycle ep (FJ), others remain unreleased (*). It should be noted that Suitcase erroneously credits a few songs as Bee Thousand outtakes which are in fact not. Navy Girl Song [If We Wait solo]* Shit Midas (SC) Hello Song* (actually intended as side 3 cut 1 for the double album version of Bee Thousand - it's a guitar / drum machine track recorded by a friend of Bob's who he's lost touch with. For that reason, as well as because it's not really a GBV song, it is not being included above) Dusted [solo version] (FJ) Kisses to the Crying Cooks (FJ) Unleashed! [rough version]* The Hard Way [solo version]* Perch Warble (SC) Taco Buffalo Birddog and Jesus (SC) The Future Is in Eggs [instrumental] (SC) So altogether, a total of 65 different songs were considered for the album at one time or another, so you can see how Bee Thousand wound up being such a strong album with so much to choose from. When I have more spare time, I will dig through the archives and put together a page detailing all the different incarnations of Bee Thousand leading up to its release. Note: original release date was to be 8/24/2004 but it got changed to 9/20/2004,
