Remarques

A Musical Autobiography. This album is the result of two separate sessions. The first took place on April 12, 1952. and the second on December 7, 1953. We have maintained the order in which it was recorded, removing nothing. Notes by Abbe Niles. Excerpted and condensed by permission from A Treasury of the Blues, edited by W.C. Handy, published by Charles Boni, New York. Copyright 1926, 1949, by W.C. Handy and Edward Abbe Niles. W.C. Handy/The Father of the Blues was originally issued by Heritage Productions Corporation, in 1953 (under the title Blues Revisited), as part of a series of recordings featuring actual performances by world-famous composers. Under License From A.S. Barnes and Co., Inc. Runouts are hand-etched except "MASTERDISK" and "EDP" which are stamped. "EDP" is in a oval.
