We have maintained the order in which it was recorded, removing nothing. Notes by Abbe Niles. Excerpted and condensed by permission from A Treasury of the Blues, edited by W.C. Handy, published by Charles Boni, New York. Copyright 1926, 1949, by W.C. Handy and Edward Abbe Niles. W.C. Handy/The Father of the Blues was originally issued by Heritage Productions Corporation, in 1953 (under the title Blues Revisited), as part of a series of recordings featuring actual performances by world-famous composers. Under License From A.S. Barnes and Co., Inc. Runouts are hand-etched except "MASTERDISK" and "EDP" which are stamped. "EDP" is in a oval.
