CBS Sugar Compagnia Generale Del Disco S.p.A.

Italian record company, established after the merger of CBS Italiana S.p.A. with Compagnia Generale Del Disco on August 1970. It was a joint-venture between CBS Inc. and Sugar Music. The partnership dissolved in 1977. CBS Inc. established CBS Dischi S.p.A. and the new CGD company became CGD Messaggerie Musicali S.p.A. The names CBS Sugar S.p.A. and CBS Sugar can appear on releases, but is is not completely clear if they refer to the same company.
