German vinyl broker/manufacturer, established as Wehmeyer & Knappe in the 1970s by Kurt F. Wehmeyer and Friedrich Knappe, located in Enger (North Rhine-Westphalia). Broker/manufacturing activities ended 2014. Also known as: Kurt F. Wehmeyer Schallplattenhandel or Kurt Wehmeyer WK-Schallplatten. The company has worked through agencies for pressings with EFA and DA Records, as well as many private and self-released products. WK-Schallplatten is most often not a label name. Only a few releases bear the distinctive tuning fork WK logo. Private releases through WK-Schallplatten with no obvious label name should be Not On Label. The in-house WK-Schallplatten label is WK-Records. Lacquer cutting was done by mastering studios SST Brüggemann GmbH or Pauler Acoustics. DMM cutting was done by Teldec-Press GmbH. Pressing was usually done by Schallplattenfabrik Pallas GmbH. Otherwise, enter it with the printed company role, or Manufactured By if no role is printed.
