Viva was established in Hong Kong 1973.
Started with audio cassette manufacturing and later expanded into audio, video and CD cleaning & care accessories. Installed first CD replication line in 1994. An In-house mastering and stamper-making facility for optical discs was established in Hong Kong in 1997. It Installed its first DVD replication line and started DVD-5, DVD-9, DVD-10 replication in 1999. Its first SACD replication line was installed in 2003.
By 2010 Viva appears to have largely exited CD/SACD/DVD manufacturing and focused on media packaging. It has subsequently become one of the world’s largest media packaging manufacturers for the Home Entertainment Industry which covers music, movies and gaming.

• Viva SACD Ltd. occasionally appears in release artwork/disc label.
• Coinciding with the commencement of in-house mastering in 1997, the presence of a sequential ‘V’ number in the matrix with the format Vnnnn.
• Subsequently VRnnnn and VSnnn sequential numbers were introduced. The ‘VS’ series coinciding with the commencement of SACD manufacture in 2003.
• Glass Master SID Codes: IFPI L751 (initially) and IFPI LQ42, IFPI LQ48, IFPI LQ49 (subsequently). The ‘LQ’ codes potentially misread as ‘LO’ or ‘L0’.
• Mould SID Codes: IFPI 1Y** (Initially) and IFPI EV** (subsequently). The '1Y' codes potentially misread as 'IY'.
