The Purcell Society is a British organization founded in 1876 by William Hayman Cummings to publish and distribute complete musical works by the great English composer of the Baroque period, Henry Purcell (1659—1695). It produced "The Purcell Society Edition" in 32 volumes, comprising all known Purcell scores, printed by Stainer & Bell. In 2008, the Purcell Society launched a "Companion Series," featuring music by contemporary composers who influenced and inspired Purcell in his oeuvre, including Louis Grabu (fl.1665—1690), John Blow (1649—1708) and Giovanni Battista Draghi (ca.1640—1708); six volumes came out so far, between 2008 and 2018.
