Satchmo Jazz Records

Satchmo Jazz Records is a Spanish record label that was based in Lerida, aimed at the recording of jazz musicians. Originally Satchmo Jazz Records was a CDS sales company in the mail (they edited a printed catalog that they sent to customers) and it had the most important record store in Lerida and the edition of a wonderful jazz magazine "Jazzology" Joan Balleste, visible head of the company, decides in 1997 to take a step forward and constitutes two record labels, Satchmo Jazz Records and Satchmo Records. With the support of the Culture Area of ​​La Generalitat Catalana, he began to record recordings of both Spanish (and especially Catalan) jazz musicians and foreign musicians. Among the musicians that appear in his catalog are Tim Armacost, Bruce Barth, Adam Kolker, Sam Newsome, Mark Feldman, Lluis Vidal), Xavi Maureta, Perico Sambeat, Chema Sainz, Jorge Pardo, Lluis Clement, Xavier Baró, Chris Kase, Carles Margarit and Ugonna Okegwo. The label disappeared sadly in 2007, with about 80 titles in its catalog
