MediaPlant Sweden

MediaPlant Sweden is a CD/DVD manufacturer and digital music distributor based in Stockholm, Sweden. Related to: - MediaPlant - Mediaplant Stockholm MediaPlant was founded in 1978 and was Sweden's first professional video copying lab. The company was originally called Stockholms Videofilm AB and in 2001 changed its name to MediaPlant AB. In May 2000, fifty percent of the shares in Head & Tail AB, Sweden's leading company for premastering and authoring for DVD and CD-ROM, were acquired. With this, the company was now able to offer its customers top-of-the-line DVD productions, as well as Mpeg-1 and Mpeg-4 encoded video for CD-ROM and the Internet. In April 2001, the bankruptcy estate of Ljudkopia/Polyvox AB was acquired. This provided both expertise and equipment for replication of digital media. For CDs they replicate, mould IFPI SID codes are rarely used. They do not appear to have glass mastered, the glass mastering role being outsourced to other providers. Glass master providers include CDA (4). By 2013 they were storing the clients' glass master and press matrix together with all printed matter completely free of charge for many years to come to enable the repressing of CDs at a later date. Note: The sequential number should not be used to determine a release date. It should only be used to exclude earlier dates. LCCN Roles Use 'Pressed By' when IFPI ZZD* is used. Otherwise ‘Manufactured By’. The sequential number can also be included.
