The Strand Cinema

The Strand Cinema was one of the most popular movie theatres in Trinidad in the twentieth century. It was used as a venue for many calypso recordings by the Trinidadian branch of RCA in the early LP era, due to being one of the only buildings with the right acoustics to capture the then-popular big band calypso style. Although no longer operating as a cinema, the building is still standing with much of its interior still intact.
