American violinist and composer (born April 7, 1884 in York, Pennsylvania – died May 14, 1947 in New York, New York). Son of the violinist and conductor Ernst Thiele (1852-1926) and his wife, the singer Kathryn Thiele. In the mid- to late 1910s, Thiele recorded for Pathé and Paramount, in the 1920s for Brunswick.
