Czech pop/rock/soul orchestra, led by Jan Spálený, backing band of his brother Petr Spálený. Founded in November 1966 as The Hippopotamuses or The artist 10049647, renamed to Apollobeat in 1967 after becoming the second staff orchestra at the Apollo theatre in Prague. Involuntarily renamed to Orchestr Jana Spáleného in the early 1970s.
