She was born into music as the daughter of Vickie Ii Rodrigues. She was the lead performer of the "Hawaii Calls" radio show from 1958 through 1974 and from 1984 to 1993 she often hosted the show. She has been a featured performer at many of Hawaii's top showrooms.
1992: Winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts. 2007 Legacy Awards Honored Past Winners.
