Were previously known as Animetal, who gained a large following for their metal covers of popular television theme songs in Japan.
Eizo Sakamoto and She-ja were inspired to reform the band after seeing tribute band Animetal USA gain popularity. In contrast to their previous style, Aisenshi intend to play a more sorrowful, soulful style than when they were known as Animetal.
