French poet, musician, painter and art critic (born in Lachapelle-aux-Pots, Oise department, 8 August 1874; died in Paris, August 1966). His pen name combined the hero of one of Richard Wagner's operas (Tristan, from Tristan und Isolde) with the villain of another (Klingsor, from Parsifal). He is best remembered today for having provided the poems to Maurice Ravel’s song cycle Shéhérazade (1903).
