Jean Hotteterre

Jean Hotteterre (1677, Paris — 3 March 1720, Ibid.) was a French composer and oboist, brother of renowned virtuoso flautist, composer, and music theorist Jacques-Martin "Le Romain" Hotteterre (1674—1763) and cousin of flutist and composer Louis Hotteterre (d.1719/20). Not to be confused with his relative, Jean de Hotteterre le père, or "the Father" (1605—1691/92), who was a woodturner, maker of woodwind instruments, oboist, and "musette" player.
