The Notwist

German indie rock band from Weilheim in Upper Bavaria, formed in 1989. The band was inspiring many local bands and is nucleus of the local scene containing bands as Lali Puna or Schweisser. In their second year, they already toured with Bad Religion and The Jesus Lizard and later with Therapy? and Hamburger Schule band Blumfeld. In the mid 1990's, the band started to experiment with Electronic elements provided by Martin Gretschmann, who finally entered the band in 1997 and stayed until 2014. He is better known as head of Console and as Acid Pauli. His influence led the band to an experimental field between Alternative Rock, Electronic music and Jazz. In the 2000's they were awarded by critics for their albums and their film scores. In 2003, the band started their own label Alien Transistor formed by the Acher brothers Micha and Markus, who are two of the founding members of the band.
