Singer-songwriter-musician, born in Haiti and founding member of Haitian group Shupa Shupa, Lionel Dorlette relocated to Canada in the late 70's where he played with (among others) pianist Leopold Molière, Jazz Ottawa, Mexican Connection, and he recorded 3 albums with Canadian calypso-reggae band New Connection (aka, New Connection Band) before releasing his solo LP Chocolat in 1979
