Chris Pedro Trakas

Chris Pedro Trakas, one of America’s most accomplished baritones, began his musical training as a child in violin, piano and as alto soloist with the St. Petersburg Boychoir. He holds BA and MM degrees, with honors, in voice, organ and music history from Eckerd College and the University of Houston. He is a winner of the distinguished Naumburg Award. His expansive repertoire, ranging through five centuries, uncounted languages and the requisite styles of history’s greatest composers, both the well known and the unjustly neglected, is ideally suited to his current artist-in-residency position at Stony Brook University in New York. He maintains residences on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and on Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida.
