American actress and big band vocalist, born 7 October 1919 in Seattle, Washington, USA; died 4 June 2011 in Coupeville, Washington, USA. Taylor was taking singing lessons at 3 and performing professionally by 12. At 18, Taylor had her own band, Betty and Her Beaus, which included 16 male musicians. She later toured with the orchestras of Henry Busse, Red Nichols, and Les Brown. She also sang with the western group The Sons of the Pioneers and appeared with Frank Sinatra in Las Vegas. From 1956 until 1986 she played Slue-Foot Sue at the Golden Horseshow Revue at Disneyland.
