American country blues singer and 12-string guitarist. Born: September 11, 1902 in Walnut Grove, Walton County, Georgia Died: October 21, 1931 in Lithonia, DeKalb County, Georgia (pneumonia) He recorded for Columbia 1927-1930 and sometimes performed with his older brother Charles Hicks (aka Charley Lincoln).
