Robert Hales (fl.1583-1616) English lutenist composer. Lutenist in the Queen's Musick 1582 - 1603. In service to Queen Anne 1605-16. Groom of the Privy Chamber 1615. A favourite singer of Queen Elizabeth I. His only surviving song O Eyes, leave off your weeping,was included in Robert Dowland's A Musicall Banquetof 1610.
