Bass player, record producer and founding member of the band Chic with Nile Rodgers. Born: 31 October 1952 Greenville, N Carolina. Died: 18 April 1996 in Japan after a reunion concert "Chic Live at the Budokan" for Japanese TV to celebrate Nile Rodgers' work as a producer. Father of Bernard Edwards Jr. aka Focus (4).
