Jazz guitarist, composer, bandleader, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. Born in Galveston, Texas on February 11, 1960. Freeman also plays bass, keyboards and drums. He studied for a time at UCLA. Formed his own band called the Rippingtons and writes most of their work. In 1994 he created Peak Records with his manager, Andi Howard. He is known for jazz-pop music.
