Miki Obata (born April 8, 1950) is a Japanese singer born in Shibuya, Tokyo. Her father is American and her mother is Japanese. She became a fashion model during her first year at Seika Gakuen High School (now Tokai University Ichihara Boyo High School). She then studied under composer Yasushi Nakamura and made her debut on April 1, 1967, with "First Love Letter." She wrote her own lyrics, including her debut song, which was extremely rare for a female singer at the time. She married a photographer, retired, and as of 2012, lives in Nasu.
