Samuel Gesser

Canadian impresario, record producer and writer (7 January 1930 – 1 April 2008). During the late 1940s and early 1950s Gesser travelled throughout Quebec making recordings of French Canadian fiddle tunes and folk songs, which he released on the Allied label. He was the Canadian representative of the US label Folkways Records. IN 1955 he co-founded the French-Canadian folk dance group Les Feux-Follets.
