Swedish, distinguished sound engineer, residing in Lidingö, born on February 1 1938 in Skedevi församling, Skedevi, Östergötland.
Gert Palmcrantz has an extensive music and sound resumé and have worked with major productions and artists in the jazz- and classical music scenes.
Palmcrantz founded Figaro Music & Media Group AB in 2011 together with Fredrik Möller.
Palmcrantz commenced his career in the late 1950s, at the gramophone studios of Europa Film. In 1976 Palmcrantz recorded Sweden's best-selling jazz record of all time, Jazz at the Pawnshop, still in use as an audio reference around the world today. Since 1994 Palmcrantz has been pursuing new techniques in audio reproduction, using the hand-built microphones of Didrick De Geer. He has made recordings in locations as diverse as the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
Gert Palmcrantz is the elder brother of Christel Palmcrantz Garrick. Additionally, he is the father of Eric Palmcrantz.
