Oscar Brown Jr.

American singer, songwriter, playwright, poet, actor and civil rights activist (BMI IPI #: 4353817). Born on October 10, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois - died on May 29, 2005 in Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Jean Pace, sister of actress Judy Pace. Father of several children, including Oscar Brown III (aka BoBo), Maggie Brown and Africa Pace Brown. He ran for office in the Illinois state legislature and U.S. Congress, both unsuccessfully. His father Oscar Brown Sr. (December 22, 1895 - October 1, 1990) was a prominent community activist, lawyer and businessman in Chicago.
