Abbess Taisiya (in the world – Maria Vasilievna Solopova; October 4 (16), 1842, St. Petersburg – January 2 (15), 1915) – spiritual writer, friend of John of Kronstadt, abbess of the Leushino Monastery of St. John the Baptist, who revived many monastic communities. Her contemporaries called her “the abbess of all Rus'.”
