Guitarist/saxophonist and founder member of Japanese new wave / electro pop band Plastics. Between the break-up of Plastics in 1981 and 1997, he released seven solo albums across the YEN/Alfa, School/Midi, Toshiba EMI and For Life labels, as well as forming the group project Hajime Tachibana & Low Powers. In the more recent past, he has participated in a number of Plastics reunion events and recordings, and issued music as a member of The Chill (2007) and Hm (2022). His 2002 solo album The End consisted of ring tones and other short pieces. This was the last album under his own name to be issued on traditional formats. He issued his 2013 album Monaco on a memory stick, and GalleriAprotia (2014) as download-only. In 2019, a reformed Low Powers issued Low Powers With The Friends, another download-only release consisting mainly of re-recordings of tracks from the 1997 album. His name in Japanese is: 立花ハジメ.
