Energy, Sex, Love, Hate, Disorder, Hope, Raw Emotion These are the elements that make up the intense force of Str8jackit. This hard rock 4 piece is blending aggressive beats and guitars with distinctive melodies, Hip Hop styling and hardcore grooves for an overall head-nodding, kick-in-the-pants experience. The origin of the new noise stems from "Tha Kingpin" , J. King, band founder and leader. Growing up in the middle of nowhere (Marathon) in North Western Ontario, Canada (population 5500), King was playing pro at age 15 with his father in classic rock bands. Realizing Marathon was not a music hotspot, young King moved out to Toronto. After a brief stint in Toronto, King started writing and began speaking with drummer Ace, an old friend from the same hometown, who was living in Vancouver. King made the move and quickly hooked up with Producer Lea Stuart Rawlings and the rest is history... With the album on it's way, Tha Kingpin and Ace needed to complete the line-up. They recruited Bass player Jarum, thru a local band and asked him to join. He could not resist. With an ad in the paper, they recruited KY and the line-up was set. The four young men instantly bonded sharing influences such as Deftones, Tool, Rage, Chili Peppers, Dre, Wu-Tang and have been ripping up Vancouver since.
