Resgate is a Brazilian rock band formed by Christian musicians in São Paulo on May 5, 1989, and has been active for three decades. It consists of Zé Bruno (vocals and guitar), Hamilton Gomes (guitar), Marcelo Bassa (bass), and Jorge Bruno (drums). Although they began their activities in the late 1980s, they emerged in Christian circles in the following decade, a time when the bands Oficina G3, Fruto Sagrado, Katsbarnea, Novo Som, and Catedral were strengthening the so-called gospel movement. The band's first album, Vida, Jesus & Rock 'n' Roll, was released in 1991, but the group's musical development began in 1995 with On The Rock, one of the band's most acclaimed albums. In the late 1990s, the group's music underwent changes. The album Resgate (1997) and its successor, Resgate Praise (2000), embraced Britpop, a counterpoint to the hard rock of previous projects. From then on, the group released several live albums and other new releases. In 2006, with the official addition of Dudu Borges to the lineup, Resgate released Até Eu Envelhecer. With over twenty years of career, Resgate experienced one of the most popular moments in its history in 2010 with the addition on the Sony Music cast and the release of the acclaimed Ainda Não É O Último, which led to a series of concerts. Dudu Borges later left the group, which returned to a more raw sound with Este Lado Para Cima, in 2012. In the following years, the musicians released live recordings and the works No Seu Quintal (2017) and É Só Isso Aqui (2020), a triple album that aimed to celebrate the group's 30th anniversary. Resgate's most recent album, Onde Guardamos As Flores?, was released in 2024. Throughout its history, the band has scored hits in Brazilian Christian rock and achieved public recognition through nominations for the Talento and Promessas trophies, as well concerts on non-Christian places, as the São Paulo radio station Kiss FM, in September 20, 2016. The performance on Kiss FM was later released on a digital audio album and videos on Resgate's official channel on YouTube. The current lineup is the same as the one that created the group.
