French novelist, memoirist and journalist (Paris, 1 July 1804 – Nohant-Vic, Berry, 8 June 1876). Between 1837 and 1847 she had a relation with Frédéric Chopin, who wrote many of his most famous pieces from this period at her coutnry manor in Nohant.
