The Radiants

Like other artists who got their start in church, In 1960 Maurice & Mac formed the group the Radiants with Wallace Sampson, Elzie Butler and Jerome Brooks. In 1962 they got a contract with Chess Records.The Radiants began their career singing gospel, but later migrated to perform secular R&B songs. They primarily recorded for Chess from 1962 to 1968, through which there were several personnel changes. They eventually broke up in 1972.
