Indian vocalist, born 24 February 1924 in Lucknow, former British India, died 9 May 1998 in Mumbai, India. Best remembered as "The King of Ghazals", Talat Mahmood was one of India's foremost singing stars. A popular Bollywood playback singer, and a little lesser known actor, Talat Mahmood ruled the Indian music industry for nearly four decades.
