B-RAIN is a solo project (RPI) by Davide Guidoni, drummer/percussionist of DAAL (and other Italian and worldwide prog-related groups such as TAPROBAN, DORACOR, GALLANT FARM, THE FAR SIDE, ARIES, PENSIERO NOMADE and more). In this project, he is the composer, keyboardist and percussionist, exploring experimental sounds of progressive rock mixed with ambient, New Age, electronic and symphonic styles to create `instrumental scenarios with a strong visual impact'.
Released in October 2018 on the Lizard Records label, `Echoes from the Undertow' is his first solo album, and it includes contributions from a range of both Italian and international progressive music related artists, including Roberto Vitelli (ELLESMERE), Steve Unruh (THE SAMURAI OF PROG), Luca Pietropaoli (Foundry), Vincenzo Zitello (INSONAR), Salvatore Lazzara (PENSIERO NOMADE) and Alfio Costa (DAAL, PROWLERS).
The very definition of an eclectic album, the atmospheric instrumental disc incorporates moments of symphonic, jazz, electronica and cinematic touches that remind of everything from VANGELIS, ROBERT RICH, YVES POTIN (JAZZCOMPUTER.ORG), ALIO DIE and Mark Isham, and even touches of the rich worldly approach of STEVE HACKETT and the gloomy moods of the darker KING CRIMSON moments.
Please note - B-Rain is not an RPI album or artist, but it holds close ties to numerous Italian and worldwide prog-related acts and artists, and its diverse and evocative approach will hold great interest to a wide range of progressive music listeners.
